Territorial Authority
Silent Crest Authority
The Silent Crest Authority occupies the mountainous northern reaches of Velenkai, where the terrain itself becomes a form of governance. The high passes and cold elevations that define Silent Crest territory are naturally resistant to the kind of rapid military movement that has reshaped the south. This has bought the Authority time, though not necessarily security.
The Authority maintains formal institutional structure and territorial claims, but its relationship to the broader Directorate governance framework — whether subordinate, competing, or simply parallel — has never been formally resolved. In practice, Silent Crest operates with significant independence, which the Directorates tolerate because the cost of removing it exceeds the strategic value of doing so.
Current Political Status
Tense but stable. Maintains de facto independence through geographic isolation. Directorate pressure is present but not yet coercive.
