Vel Thorn

Vel Thorn is a nation in three parts, and the distance between those parts is not merely geographic. North Vel Thorn functions as the primary import hub, managing most incoming goods from Saenn and Norrath. South Vel Thorn is the fortified administrative and military core — dense, well-supplied, and tightly controlled, a standard of living maintained at the cost of its sibling districts. Outer Vel Thorn, separated from the other two by the Yevuun Freeband, is the agricultural hinterland: poorer, more rural, and deliberately difficult to migrate out of.

The Freeband's Yevuun Transit Accord Zones — known locally as "Traced Margins" — run through the district borders, layering military corridors across what are ostensibly civilian agricultural lands. Most residents of Outer Vel Thorn live near rationing lines; crossing district borders requires permits. The food produced here feeds the nation. The nation's governance is concentrated elsewhere.

Vel Thorn's relationship with Hevrath is economically symbiotic and politically strained. Its relationship with the PAVT — the People's Army of Vel Thorn — represents an internal fracture that the administrative core has not resolved.
